I started taking pictures of my cats in elementary school and at age 16 started developing my own film while getting certified in scuba diving. My love of photography & adventure was already fully entrenched.
I left for Air Force Basic Training after high school with only a small backpack and had to leave my camera behind. My first stop when I was allowed off base in technical training was at a camera shop to buy an antique Canon AE-1 Film camera to hold me over. Afterwards, I walked for miles taking photos of the scenery until I was so lost I had to call a taxi to take me home.
I have not been without a “real” camera since and thankfully, my land navigation skills have improved.
I strive to embrace life and all that it has to offer. What I was not expecting was that motherhood would be my biggest and most meaningful adventure. I cherish the few candid photos I have of me and my parents. The photos that mean the most to me capture the love between people.
I love photos that tell a story or bring you back to a moment – the feel of the cool mountain breeze, a baby’s snuggle, or the joy of a child.
Capturing small details and embracing life at every stage is what I strive for.
I’d love to put my photography experience & love of adventure to work for you. You’ll have fun and obtain memories for you to cherish in the years to come or help you meet your current business goals. Please contact me to start the journey!
Some of my Adventures
Being the photographer of the group, I’m usually not in many of the photos (or they’re aren’t very good) which is why I feel so strongly that everyone should have photos of their adventures.
Shoveling Snow & the Day-to-Day with 3 Kids
After realizing I wasn’t hardly in any of our photo books, I embarked on a “Mom 52” project where I tried to take 1 self-portrait with at least 1 on my kids per week for a year. I wasn’t 100%, but my kids and I both love looking at the images.
Learning to Skateboard
My kids took a parks & rec skateboarding class and loved it. One of my sons decided it was so fun that I should learn. I surprised myself with how fun it was and will never forget or stop laughing at my son calling out to his sister, “I’m teaching Mom how to skateboard – she’s not very good”.
Rock Climbing
I enjoy both indoor & outdoor rock climbing, but something about climbing at Devils Lake is just special.
Hiking & Backpacking
The outdoors has always been my place to recharge. Raising the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts is rewarding & it’s great that they can learn from all my hard-earned lessons.
Every year, we make the trip to the Porcupine Mountains and stay in the rustic backcountry cabins. In 2025, we experienced true “type-2 fun”—the kind that’s not so fun in the moment but fun in hindsight—during a five-mile hike between cabins in pouring rain.
Thankfully, my kids still want to go again next year.
Riding Dirt Bikes & Motorcycles
Growing up, I’d always wanted to ride a motorcycle. So, at 22 I bought a Kawasaki 125 dirt bike with the goal of learning to ride. Little did I know how much I’d love riding in the dirt. I graduated to bigger dirt bikes and road bikes and love the feel of cornering.
Paragliding in Big Sur, California
While I haven’t done it since I lived in California, paragliding was one of my favorite activities. I loved flying over the ocean & feeling the breeze.
